About the Search

The Washington State University Board of Regents is pleased to announce the launch of a collaborative search for the university’s 12th president and chief executive.

While the ultimate selection of Washington State University’s next president will be made by the Board of Regents, active participation, input, and feedback will be sought from the broader WSU community throughout the process.

Once the successful candidate is named, the university’s new president will start in July 2025.

Search Advisory Committee

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee is chaired by Jenette Ramos, current Vice Chair of the Board of Regents. The 25-person committee includes representation from the Board of Regents, university leadership, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors, in addition to engaged business and community leaders.

Leadership Profile

In consultation with the university community, a document has been prepared outlining the qualities, expectations, and opportunities ahead of the next president.

Process & Timeline

The search process began in April 2024 and has included ample opportunities for community feedback.
