Jennifer Hyatt

Dr. Jennifer Hyatt is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Washington State University. An executive with over three decades of experience in student affairs, Dr. Hyatt has extensive higher education leadership experience in areas pertaining to incident and crisis response planning, medical health and counseling departments, capital projects, student leadership, institutional and program assessment, university accreditation, program development, threat assessment, orientation, enrollment management, and housing and residential life operations.

As a leader, Dr. Hyatt strives to understand and amplify the perspectives of historically minoritized students. During her career, she’s launched a number of co-curricular initiatives that help cultivate inclusive communities. Invigorated by opportunities to solve complex problems and contribute to positive change, she works every day to support students by increasing their sense of belonging and providing access to the resources they need to thrive. In addition to her numerous leadership roles within the university, Dr. Hyatt is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) and currently serves on the Executive Board of NASPA Region V (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education).

Dr. Hyatt holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education from the University of North Texas.
