Eric Shelden

Dr. Eric Shelden is an accomplished academic with a profound commitment to research and education. Since joining Washington State University in 2003, he has taught upper-level undergraduate courses in cell biology and contributed to numerous graduate-level courses. His research interests encompass cell biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. His published manuscripts, which include peer-reviewed publications in both research and educational journals, have been cited over 3600 times and have earned an h-index of 31 and an i-10 index of 43. Dr. Shelden is also an academic editor for the journal PLOS ONE and regularly reviews manuscripts for journals such as Cancers, Veterinary and Comparative Oncology, and BMC Cancer. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Shelden has provided significant service to Washington State University. He served as the chair of the Institutional Biosafety Committee from 2012 to 2019 and held the positions of chair-elect and chair of the WSU Faculty Senate between 2022 and 2024.
