Kirk Schulz named 11th president of WSU

March 25, 2016

Greetings, members of the WSU community:

On behalf of the entire Board of Regents, I am delighted to announce that Kirk Schulz today accepted our offer to become the 11th President of Washington State University.

Currently serving as president of Kansas State University, President Schulz was the unanimous choice of the Board of Regents following a nationwide search.

President Schulz’s colleagues consistently praise his integrity, passion for the job, and belief in the transformative power of higher education. Those qualities, combined with his deep connection to students and commitment to the land-grant mission, make President Schulz the ideal choice to lead Washington State University into the future.

Details about planned activities to welcome President Schulz to each of WSU’s campuses across the state will be announced soon. A contract will be before the Regents for approval at the May Board of Regents meeting. To learn more about the president, visit our Presidential Transition website.

Please join me in extending an enthusiastic welcome to President Schulz and his wife Noel as they join the Cougar family.

Go Cougs!
